The details
the witch the helpless
The scissors in the edges
The devil in the details
I walked yet the world melted beneath my feet,
my consciousness shattering to mirror the chaos I breathe.
There is a woman at the end of things,
at the sprawling beginning,
and even in the darkness before time woke.
She ruins, that's her place.
yet she's also the angel just floating in plain sight.
They call her wildfire
yet swear she couldn't strike a match.
Condemned before my tongue can form a sound,
I hang suspended in the crossfire
infinitely closer, infinitely further from God,
than you could ever stomach me to be.
I hang suspended
in the limbo of your orbit.
Yet. the god in the details.

this is so beautiful
Your way around words is spectacular. The poem and its hidden meanings reflected a deeper truth.
These verses got me thinking,
Details aren’t necessarily the bits that form the whole, but also the shadows, the in-betweens, the reflections, rebirth, and destruction.
Beautiful and equally powerful, Mai :)
